Matthew Gardner

Once upon a time...

Once upon a time your fingers knew how to write words that made warriors weep brought mountains to their feet and tickled the air until it shimmered like it did the day you were born.

Once upon a time when you spoke you didn’t choke on your soul as it poured into the world.

Once upon a time your wild soul wasn’t hidden in some forgotten cave in the roots of your spine; you wore it like a trophy in your eyes in your scars and tattooed like lightning across your bare chest.

So let it be again so let it be again so let it be again.

So it is.
